Roving Mars

Last night, August 5th, the car-sized, 1 ton rover named Curiosity made a successful landing on Mars after a 36 week long flight from Earth.  It will now embark on a two year long mission to explore the Gale Crater it landed in to find clues to whether or not the crater had favorable conditions for microbial life.
